Motiv vs Kickbite. Attribution analytics vs conversion intelligence.
Kickbite tells you accurately which channels drove your conversions. But while you read that data in its dashboard, Google, Meta, and TikTok are still optimising on whatever incomplete signals your existing setup sends them, not on what Kickbite knows. Motiv closes that gap: accurate attribution and the right conversion data fed back to your ad platforms automatically, with GDPR compliance enforced at every step.
What Kickbite does well
Kickbite is a Berlin-based attribution platform trusted by European ecommerce brands. For teams who want a clear, accurate picture of which channels are earning their budget, it delivers.
Session-based pricing scales with your traffic, not with your revenue, starting at roughly €750/month.
AI-powered multi-touch attribution
Evaluates every touchpoint based on engagement quality, time between interactions, and the number of touchpoints in the journey, including view-through attribution that credits ad impressions alongside clicks.
Multiple attribution models in one dashboard
First, Last, Assisted, AI Click, and AI Click with Impressions, with campaign-to-ad-ID level reporting across paid and non-paid channels.
EU infrastructure and compliance
Runs on EU infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany with GDPR and TTDSG compliance built in.
One moves your data. The other tells you what it's worth.
Kickbite solves the attribution problem
Kickbite is built to show you accurate attribution data. That answers the question: which channels worked? It gives ecommerce teams a clear, trustworthy picture of where their budget is earning its keep.
Motiv solves the intelligence problem
Motiv is built to act on that answer. It shows you the attribution, classifies every conversion for GDPR compliance, and sends real conversion data back to Google, Meta, and TikTok so their algorithms optimise on what actually happened. Ad platforms don't read your dashboard, they learn from the conversion signals you send. Motiv fixes the signal at the source.
Feature by feature
Both tools give you accurate attribution. Only one closes the loop back to your ad platforms.

Kickbite's session-based pricing scales with your website traffic regardless of how many conversions you generate. Motiv prices by conversions, you pay for outcomes, not visitors. Last reviewed June 2026, based on publicly available information. See kickbite.com for current pricing.
Session-based capture
Representative estimate. Actual coverage depends on your setup.
Kickbite watches the browser. Motiv captures from the backend.
Kickbite's session-based tracking, even with cookieless matching, still relies on observing visitor behaviour on the site. If a conversion happens in a way that bypasses the site, a phone order logged directly in your CRM, a wholesale deal closed by a sales rep, or an offline event, Kickbite cannot see it.
Motiv captures from the backend source instead. Every Shopify order, every CRM deal, every form submission reaches Motiv from the system that created it, not from the browser that may or may not have reported it.
Kickbite is purpose-built for ecommerce, with every integration, attribution model, and reporting layer designed around the online purchase funnel. Motiv tracks both ecom and leadgen, so a webshop that also generates leads, or a business closing deals through a CRM alongside online orders, is handled within the same account and the same dashboard.
Privacy-friendly is good. Technically enforced is better.
Both Kickbite and Motiv run on EU infrastructure and claim GDPR compliance. Kickbite's approach is based on hashed data processing and cookieless user matching, and it does not set cookies for tracking purposes, which removes some consent friction.
Motiv takes a different approach: every inbound event is classified as Observed (prior consent confirmed) or Restricted (consent absent or withdrawn) before any dispatch decision is made. Restricted events are never dispatched to ad platforms, regardless of configuration. This is not just a privacy-friendly approach, it is technically enforced.
The Attribution Gap makes the commercial cost of that enforcement visible: the revenue from conversions that happened but could not be dispatched due to absent consent, shown in euros on your dashboard. That number is both a compliance indicator and a business metric.
The insight lives in Kickbite. The learning happens in Google and Meta.
Kickbite gives you attribution data you can trust, which is more than most tools offer. But there is a structural limitation: the insight lives in Kickbite, while the learning happens in Google and Meta. Your Kickbite dashboard might show Meta contributing 18% of revenue while Meta's own model claims 42%, and Meta's algorithm has been optimising on that inflated 42% signal for months, selecting audiences, adjusting bids, and scaling campaigns on data that overstates its own contribution.
Motiv sends the corrected conversion data, with real revenue values from your Shopify store or CRM, directly back to all connected ad platforms via server-side API. The algorithm learns from actual outcomes, not from its own inflated estimates.
Over time, that produces better targeting, better bidding, and lower cost per conversion. Kickbite shows you the truth, but Meta's algorithm doesn't know it. Motiv makes sure it does.
Choosing between them
Use Kickbite if…
- You run an ecommerce store and want the most accurate multi-touch attribution available, including view-through modelling
- You want session-based pricing that is independent of your revenue or conversion volume
- Your primary need is attribution clarity for internal decision-making
- A guided kickoff with a dedicated customer success manager fits how you prefer to onboard
Use Motiv if…
- You want attribution data that does more than show insights in a dashboard, you want it to feed back into your ad platforms so their algorithms actually improve
- You're seeing Google and Meta report different ROAS numbers and want a calculation from a source with no commercial interest in the outcome
- You generate leads and need conversions tracked from ad click through to closed deal, not just to a landing page
- You want GDPR enforcement built into the dispatch architecture, not managed as a reporting configuration
What Motiv is not
Motiv does not have AI view-through attribution or impression-level modelling. If understanding the contribution of upper-funnel awareness campaigns based on ad views is central to how you measure performance, Kickbite's attribution model is more advanced on that specific dimension. Motiv's focus is on closing the loop between attribution and dispatch: showing you what happened and making sure your ad platforms learn from it.
Three things Kickbite can't give you
Conversion intelligence, not just an attribution dashboard.
Every conversion captured
From every source system, not from what a browser managed to report.
True ROAS per channel
Calculated by an independent engine with no commercial interest in the outcome.
GDPR-compliant by architecture
Consent enforced at the pipeline level, not through configuration that someone could accidentally misconfigure.
